"Comment on the Wikipedia-Entry "Linear optimization: Phases of the Simplex method 1"

  • Your wiki entry seems to be very well done.
  • It is well structured and it is easy to follow each phase.
  • All phases are even easier to understand with the given examples to each of the phases.
  • The corresponding marks are making it even easier to follow.
  • The exemplification at the very end is also good.
  • We couldn't recognize any mistakes.

All in one you did a great job!

Greetings,

"Linear optimization: Phases of the Simplex method 4"

Note: We have to comment your solution, because we wrote the article about the TSP Software and there was no other group, so we comment were asked to comment another topic

First of all we have to say, that we enjoyed reading your article about the phases of the simplex.

Here are some little ideas of improvement:

  • In Phase 0 you wrote down the constraints. At the first moment we were confused what you ment with "old constraint" and "new constraint". Then we realised that you wanted to say, that the first line shows "normal" constraints and the second line shows the equation modelled as a constraint. Maybe you could clarify that.
  • Phase 1: we think that the headline is some kind of wrong, because you are not minimizing the infeasible initial solution. You try to make it feasible. If thats impossible than there is no solution. (Also in the script it is called "infeasible initial solution".)

Great job :)
